Things have settled down a bit for us musically so far this year. Gigs haven't been knocking on our door, and so we've been occupying our free time with other, more domestic things - home improvement jobs, saving up the "baby money", etc. Regular life is upon us. I started to run out of shelf space for books, so I had to quit reading for a while, so I could build some more bookshelves, so I could read more books. Which reminds me of a quote from this article:
"Some people want to live the glamorous, high-fashion life of Paris Hilton. I've always wanted to live like C. S. Lewis, whose friends said that the masses of books lining his house were the only thing keeping the walls from falling in."
Yeah, that's me, too. It is "wedding season", though, so we're still getting some chances to sing for our friends. And Des continues to pour out some great songwriting in the evening hours. Our current plan is to get into the studio sometime this summer, to get some of them down on tape, before they lose their "freshness". Along with some other arrangements of hymns that we've been playing for a while. When they'll actually make it into CD form is still up in the air.
That's about it from us for now. As always, we're available for gigs if you've got friends you want to introduce our music too. Peace.
